\nMar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 Payno<\/strong><\/p>\n[\/gt3_custom_text][vc_single_image image=”5166″ img_size=”” alignment=”center” css=”.vc_custom_1740827819549{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row”][vc_column][gt3_custom_text text_color=”#28323e” font_size=”16″ line_height=”190″]Have been popular athletes for more than 30 and 20 years, respectively, competing in road races, trail races, ultra-trail races, cycling races, SUP races, as well as practising other sports such as rock climbing, mountain biking, skiing, volleyball… We have been practising sport as a lifestyle for a long time.[\/gt3_custom_text][gt3_spacing height=”17px”][gt3_custom_text text_color=”#28323e” font_size=”16″ line_height=”190″]Iv\u00e1n has been organising sports events in different places in Spain for more than 20 years (among others: Triatlon Sierra Nevada, Triatlon Bola del Mundo, SwimStrong Navacerrada, SouthMan Xtreme Triathlon).[\/gt3_custom_text][gt3_spacing height=”17px”][gt3_custom_text text_color=”#28323e” font_size=”16″ line_height=”190″]Maria Jos\u00e9, a professional lawyer, had as a hobby to participate in ultra-distance races and as a volunteer in the races organised by Iv\u00e1n.[\/gt3_custom_text][gt3_spacing height=”17px”][gt3_custom_text text_color=”#28323e” font_size=”16″ line_height=”190″]Based in the town of Navacerrada (Madrid), in 2015 we decided to give a twist to their lives and they moved to Marbella with the goal of both being able to dedicate themselves fully to the sport.[\/gt3_custom_text][gt3_spacing height=”17px”][gt3_custom_text text_color=”#28323e” font_size=”16″ line_height=”190″]That’s how The Hawaiians SUP Center<\/strong> was born in 2015, a Paddle Surf school located in Marbella.[\/gt3_custom_text][gt3_spacing height=”17px”][gt3_custom_text text_color=”#28323e” font_size=”16″ line_height=”190″]Our name, a joke (very typical of Iv\u00e1n): arriving from Madrid and having no idea of paddle surfing, we bought all the material, we took the instructor training courses and we established ourselves in Ist\u00e1n Lake (very Hawaiian). We knew two things for sure: Paddle surfing started in Hawaii and what our public was looking for: to practice sports in exclusive and different places… Well, if you combine it all, that’s us, The Hawaiians SUP Center<\/strong>.[\/gt3_custom_text][gt3_spacing height=”17px”][gt3_custom_text text_color=”#28323e” font_size=”16″ line_height=”190″]With the years we got closer to the sea, to our loved Guadalmina Baja. My partner and I visited to rent two paddleboards for an hour. It was reasonably priced and located on a beautiful beach. The hotel next door was closed at the time for refurbishment, so it was not busy at all. There were no toilets and you had to use a hose to take a shower, but this didn’t bother us. We rented 5 boards for an hour and had great fun paddling in the warm water. Very friendly\/supportive owner and good quality kit.
